“Entrant Status Check is the ONLY means by which selectees are notified of their selection,” states Pollak. “The Department of State does not mail out notification letters or notify selectees by email.”
If selected, the confirmation page will provide instructions for the next steps, including visa application procedures and associated fees.
What If You Are Selected?
Selected applicants must:
Complete Form DS-260 (the official immigrant visa application)
Submit civil documents (including passports, police certificates, educational credentials)
Undergo a medical examination with an approved panel physician
Attend an in-person interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate
If the visa is approved, the applicant will be allowed to travel to the U.S. and receive their Green Card shortly after arrival.
